Mamuka Gorgodze hails 'greatest win in Georgia history'

Tonga's Mamuka Gorgodze celebrates his try with teammate Sione Kalamafoni during the Rugby World Cup game with Georgia on September 19, 2015

Georgia captain Mamuka Gorgodze has hailed his side's victory over Tonga this afternoon as the greatest in the nation's rugby history.
Gorgodze put in a man-of-the-match display to help his sideovercome the Pacific Islanders 17-10, giving them just their third Rugby World Cup victory ever.
The full-time whistle was greeted with scenes of wild celebrations by Milton Haig's side, and Gorgodze believes that the triumph was the greatest Georgia have ever managed.

"I think in Georgian rugby, this was the best victory in our history. We are a very small team. We have a lot of players who play in good teams, but in the Georgia team we never do a victory like this," he told reporters.
When asked whether his side could challenge the Northern Hemisphere's best teams in the future, Gorgodze added: "Why not? We work for this, but for the moment we must play against teams like Canada, Japan, Tonga before we go to play the Six Nations teams."
Gorgodze made 27 tackles and scored his 24th international try during the victory at Kingsholm Stadium.
