Manchester United are reportedly hopeful that Michael Carrick could be fit to play some part in the club's derby against Liverpool.
The experienced midfielder pulled out of England's international squad on Monday, but the Daily Mail suggests that United believe that Carrick has a chance of making the squad for Saturday evening's clash at Old Trafford.
It is thought that Carrick is at United's Carrington training ground today in order to receive treatment on an injury to his thigh.
The 34-year-old has played at least some part in all six of United's fixtures so far this season.
