Dick Advocaat: 'Sunderland will definitely stay up'

Dick Advocaat has said that Sunderland will definitely avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.
The Black Cats slumped to a 2-0 loss against Bournemouth and are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.
"I am sure that we will stay up but we cannot wait longer than now," Advocaat told reporters. "I don't see it in the home game's but in the away games we leave it too late and there is no sharpness and we give goals away.

Captain Jean de Villiers has said that South Africa need to win all their remaining Rugby World Cup group matches in order to qualify for the knockout stages.
An 84th-minute try from Karne Hesketh saw South Africa suffer a shock 34-32 defeat to Japan in their opening fixture.
"There's a lot of disappointment," De Villiers told BBC Sport. "Big credit to Japan they put us under pressure at the end and we were not good enough.

Sebastian Rode has admitted that it was pleasing to make the most of a rare start as Bayern Munich beat SV Darmstadt 98 3-0 to climb to the top of the Bundesliga.
Despite usually playing a supporting role from the bench, Pep Guardiola's decision to drop the likes of Thiago, Thomas Mullerand Xabi Alonso to the bench provided Rode with a platform to impress.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed that he tried to sign Dutch international Memphis Depay last summer.
The 21-year-old joined Manchester United for £25m in June, but Koeman told reporters that he approached Depay in 2014.
The winger turned down the move to stay in the Netherlands and went on to have a spectacular final season with PSV Eindhoven, scoring 22 goals, and Koeman admitted that he would have liked the opportunity to work with the forward.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has revealed that he was relieved Tottenham Hotspur did not attempt to sign Yannick Bolasie during the transfer window.
The 26-year-old was linked with the London club over the summer, with Pardew admitting that Bolasie should consider an offer from a bigger club, but a move never materialised.

Former Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi remains in talks with Huddersfield Town, according to Terriers manager Chris Powell.
The 33-year-old is currently a free agent and has been training with the Championship club for the past week.
Powell admitted that talks had begun with the Nigerian international but were put on hold to prepare for consecutive away games against Cardiff City and Charlton Athletic.

Manchester City's record signing Kevin De Bruyne has revealed that manager Jose Mourinho only spoke to him on two occasions during his low-profile stint at Chelsea.
De Bruyne joined Wolfsburg in January 2014 after failing to cement a first-team place under the Portuguese, who had returned to Stamford Bridge for a second spell the previous summer.
The 52-year-old insisted that he was right to sell the playmaker - who joined the Sky Blues for £54m last month - but the Belgian says that things could have been different had Mourinho been more encouraging.
"I didn't get any explanation," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "I only talked with him twice, Mourinho. That was before the game against Basel, where he said I was doing better, in his opinion, and that I would get my chance. I think that was maybe November.

Barcelona's Lionel Messi tops FIFA 16's dribbling ratings

EA Sports have revealed that Lionel Messi will be the top-rated dribbler in the new FIFA 16 game, which is released next week.
Each player on the game has a number of attributes, all of which are rated out of 100.
As far as dribbling is concerned, Messi has come in at number one with a rating of 96, while his Barcelona teammate Neymar is tied in second place with Chelsea's Eden Hazard on 94.
In third spot, Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo and Bayern Munich's Dutch winger Arjen Robben have been graded at 93.

The Northern Irishman decided to leave a number of players that started the 3-1 defeat to rivals Manchester United on Saturday at home, including summer signings Christian Benteke and James Milner.
Young Belgian striker Divock Origi has benefited from the omission of his fellow countryman Benteke, while the absence of Milner has seen 18-year-old Jordan Rossiter come into the midfield.
Elsewhere, the fit again Adam Lallana has been given a starting role, while centre-back Mamadou Sakho has taken the captain's armband.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has joked that he will buy his players pizza if they keep a clean sheet against Stoke City on Saturday.
The Foxes sit second in the Premier League after an unbeaten start to the season, but have conceded in each of their five games so far.
Ranieri has said that he will give his team an incentive to shut out the Potters at the Britannia Stadium this weekend.
"I want to pay a pizza for a clean sheet. When we get one I pay for pizza and maybe a hot dog," Goal.com quotes the Italian as saying.
Leicester beat Aston Villa 3-2 last Sunday.

Roberto Martinez: 'No new deal for John Stones'

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has stated that the club have not offered a new contract to John Stones.
The defender handed in a transfer request last month amid heavy interest from Premier League champions Chelsea, although it was immediately rejected by the Toffees.
The 20-year-old signed a new five-year deal with Everton last summer.
When asked about reports suggesting that Stones had been offered fresh terms, Martinez told ESPN: "No, there's nothing to announce there."
Stones has made six appearances for Everton so far this season.

Kevin Phillips leaves Leicester City to join Derby County as assistant coach

Derby County have confirmed that they have appointed Kevin Phillips as their new assistant coach.
The 42-year-old had been working as first-team coach at Leicester City, having taken up the role under Nigel Pearson after retiring from playing last summer and remained in place under his successor Claudio Ranieri.
Derby head coach Paul Clement has said that the former England striker will have much to offer at the iPro Stadium.
